DAY 5 1/1/17

Sad to leave Jost van Dyke today but now it’s time to explore more of the BVIs before we leave this region. This sailing always take a bit longer than you’re expecting cos that pesky wind decides just how fast things happen. We’re heading for Trellis Bay. This is our first day of ‘sailing’ – up went the headsail – weird configuration on this cat – mast winches for a start but then the clue of the headsail has a metal ring which my god could do serious damage if it connects to a head! When tacking the head continually got caught on the winches, and, first tack the metal clue promptly ripped the steaming light off and it, luckily, bounced past our heads never to be seen again! Our solution – reduce the headsail size to avoid the winches – perfect.

Taking Mick and Barb through sailing 101 – they’re fast becoming competent crew.

Arrived at Trellis Bay – lots of moorings – phew! Explored Aragons Artists studio – this Bay has changed incredibly over the last 4 years- lots more eateries and bars – sipped bayleys on ice -ahhhhh
