Well this adventure began after our first Caribbean sail in 2012 in the BVIs when Anthony announced that he wanted to celebrate his 60th birthday at ‘Foxys Bar’ on Jost van Dyke in the BVIs. That set the date and the year, 31 December 2016. So we are going to spend New Year’s Eve 2016 moored at a gorgeous Caribbean island – oh ok !
Our sailing life started in 2007 with a Hutton 28, ‘PandA’, sailing out of Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron, largely playing in Port Phillip Bay. We upgraded to Anastasia a Carter 33 in 2015 and we cruise and race and, as all sailors know, learn something every time we go out !
We’ve also done a couple of short sailing holidays in the Whitsundays with friends and honestly we look back on those and realise how little we knew. We are still amazed that someone thought we knew enough about what we were doing to rent us their boat!
