Despite growing up in dairy farm country at Wilson’s Promontory with Corner Inlet and Waratah Bay in the back yard my experience of the sea is rather limited. I can swim, snorkel and fish. All these marine skills maybe handy if we run out of food near St Maartens, but my only taste of “sailing” is a few trips on a Hobie cat on Lake Boga, going in circles around Airlie beach harbour for a day on our honeymoon and being a passenger on a catamaran in Havannah Bay in Vanuatu many Sunday’s where anchoring at a pristine coral atoll to snorkel was all I there for.
Mick and I have been living I the Goulburn Valley for more than 30 years with Tatura our home. Not a big place but flat, folk know their neighbours , a good town to raise a family of 4, A base to head off and explore Australia in our light plane and luckily the location of a successful pharmacy. Capt Anthony and first mate Pauline introduced Mick and I about 33 years ago . what and adventure it has been since then….looking forward to sharing the Caribbean catamaran journey with them in January.
