1st mate for this Caribbean cruise –
So how did I get here ? Planning a 5 week sail ?
I have always loved being outside – sports, camping, walking, playing but the sea hadn’t really played any significant part other than the family beach holiday now and again.
I’m a late starter to this sailing caper having really been in quite a typical life of marriage, children, work and life for nearly 30 years in North Croydon.
We had a sea change in 2005 moving to gorgeous Elwood which was largely driven by having a husband who yearned for the sea.
Thus life since then has a back drop of Port Phillip Bay and really there is nothing like the ocean in all her moods.
I would call myself a competent sailor having had reasonable experience, a few courses and having had a few sailing adventures – Whitsundays, British Virgin Islands and locally.
This trip is our next challenge – its daunting, confusing and super exciting!
