Happy Australia Day everyone !!
We can have a slow start today – the next 7 days have the advantage of no long distances so we can take our time. Chris and Jenny haven’t been to the BVIs before so we’re excited to show them some gorgeous spots. Left Bitter End after refuelling and rewatering and bought some fresh milk before we left. We had another ‘lost in translation’ when we thought we’d bought milk and it was buttermilk!
Off to the Baths – they are a collection of enormous boulders on the beach. The day we were here with Mick and Barb we couldn’t get a mooring and the sea was really rough, but today was perfect. You can’t take a dingy to shore so you have to swim to shore. It is truly amazing and we’re so happy to show this first taste of the BVIs to Chris and Jenny.
Just a short hop to Trellis Bay for the night. The young guy collecting the mooring fees had lived in Australia for a year and he told us Barack Obama had been in Trellis Bay 2 days ago. He’s now staying on one of Richard Branson’s Island. He’d been asked to play at a party there next week!
We went to a restaurant he was playing at for a little while tonight to show our moral support
