DAY. 31. 27/1/2017. Trellis Bay to Great Harbour. Jost van Dyke

Would you believe our first overcast day. Trellis Bay – the sign at the breakfast place said ‘coffee, breakfast and GOOD WIFI. Well the coffee was ok, toastie was good but the wifi was total rubbish! We all tried and tried to confirm flights out of Tortola (we’d all got various email changing departure times) with increasing frustration! Why the boys preserved for so long I do not know. Finally we walked 400m to the airport and spoke to a real person!

Now off to Jost van Dyke Island and Great Harbour home to the famous Foxys Bar. What we had failed to do on Anthony’s birthday we achieved today – we were anchoring when a friendly neighbour noticed a boat leaving a mooring – YAY the last mooring available! How smug we felt when seeing other boats searching for a mooring.

So now we are able to show Chris and Jenny the famous Foxys. Just so happens live music and BBQ – perfect – headed onshore about 1500 as people slowly drifted in. BBQ started at 7pm – fantastic and music started at 8. Anthony was crooned by a very sexy young singer who, he says with starry eyes, sang happy birthday to him and brushed his cheek twice. We pretended it was his birthday and finally his 60th birthday was complete. It was a brilliant day!
