Happy birthday to my big brother Philip
Our day started at 4am!! Leaving Bitter End off to St Maarten. Very weird to be heading off in the dark spotting channel markers, islands and other boats to get us safely out into open waters. The temperature was gorgeous even at 4am. The absolute highlight today was seeing the sunrise – breathtaking and to think family and friends farewelled that same sun that we welcomed – Mother Nature at her glorious best.
By 1015 we could only see water in every direction but by 1115 the first far off glimpse of St Maarten. We motored for 12.5 hours to get there but we all agreed that we preferred 12 hours on the boat opposed to 12 ours on a plane! That probably sounds like an awful day of motoring but it’s amazing how time passes.
1645 docked a Marina Fort Louis – very happy to be here! Dinner on shore – yum – I love the sound of French!
