Slow start today until the Caribbean Princess tooted her horn and 3000 tourists hit the dock 300m away. Funny how passengers on these huge ships hop off and wander this huge shopping complex while, if they only walked 400m in the opposite direction they would find themselves in the real St. Kitts. Bern, Jacinta, Pauline and Anthony checked out the shopping traps, Barbara photographed the older buildings and Mick enjoyed the serenity of the dock.
Today Pauline completely lost her bearings while shopping in St Kitts – Mick then confessed he found some bearings and threw them overboard – no wonder ! Now I have to find some new ones! Motored south to Whitehouse bay for the night.
See photo……Yes that’s Orion in the pic. On the shore was, what looked like a deserted corrugated metal shed. Our trusty explorer, Barb, set off and returned with “I think it might be opening” sure enough music was heard and what a surprise….the bar of the trip appeared 100m from the boat……. Salt Plaz??? was gorgeous.
A short walk away, would you believe, is a super boat marina being built. It was huge and there was about 8 super boats docked with more to arrive. All these boats are permanently crewed and some were coming here to play in the Super Yacht Olympics. Such a strange contrast to around the corner – pretty poor St.Kitts and then a super yacht marina!
Had a lovely dinner
